New York's Largest Suburban School District
For Student Medical Records System

For Immediate Release:

Walled Lake, MI - March 7, 2001 - Healthmaster, the worldwide leader in student health information systems, has been chosen by the Sachem Central School District in New York as their exclusive vendor of student health software. Sachem, located in Suffolk County on Long Island is the largest suburban school district in the state of New York, with over 14,500 students attending annually.  Sachem is installing HealthOffice 2000 and having Healthmaster train school nurses at 2 High Schools, 2 Junior High Schools and 12 Elementary Schools.

HealthOffice 2000 is a secure student health records management program that documents and authenticates medical records.

The role of the school nurse includes treatment of student illnesses, first aid, distribution of prescribed medications, special health counseling and routine health examinations. Each child's record must remain confidential and health information needs to be properly documented for the protection of the student.  HealthOffice 2000 provides the nurses with accurate, easy-to-use, secure documentation and reporting ability.

"Our nurses researched software for over a year," said Michael Pomara, Sachem's Administrative Assistant for Institutional Technology.  "The Healthmaster product is the best out there, their support is terrific, we are all very happy with it."

Healthmaster's school nurse software is currently being used in over 3,000 schools across the United States, Canada and 15 other countries worldwide.

Established in 1989, Healthmaster (www.healthmaster.com) has become the worldwide leader in providing medical records software for schools.  School districts are recognizing the growing and critical importance of student health documentation. In addition to the financial and legal liabilities, educators are realizing that schools have become community partners in assuring the proper health maintenance and welfare of school-age children.  As the industry leader, Healthmaster has joined that partnership with cost-effective, state-of-the-art solutions for school nurses.
